Hey Luvs,
At the beginning of the year, a couple friends and I planned to
take a trip beyond borders. Since I've never been to Jamaica before so this
trip was right on course with my plan to explore beyond the states. Our chosen
destination was the beautiful island of Jamaica at the fabulous Hyatt ZiliaraResort in picturesque Montego Bay.
I decided to make this a post a review of my stay at the inclusive
resort and a recap of what I wore on my trip.
Our journey to the island paradise begin bright and early at the
Atlanta Airport. We actually made it through TSA within 30 mins. Our flight
time was around 8am and we arrived extra early to prevent any hold ups. The
only thing I wasn't expecting was the long haul to our gate.
NOTE TO ATL HARTFIELD :
The concourse trains should start promptly at 6am. Some people actually come to the airport early and the country mile hike to the gates is downright disrespectful.
Our flight time was roughly five hours with one stop in Charlotte, NC. Once you arrive there is a wait time to get through past customs and retrieve your luggage. Afterwards your vacation with Hyatt Ziliara Rose Hall officially begins. The service of this resort starts with your first stop at the airport receiving lounge.
The gracious staff offers a cool energizing
towel to get the travel lag off and a refreshing drink to kick your vacation
off right. I chose the beverage of the island, Red Stripe of course.
STAY
The Hyatt Ziliara Rose Hall of Montego Bay is breathtaking; I’ve
never been anywhere so stunning. The property is beautifully decorated with
bright tropical décor grounded by strong wooded pieces instantly relaxing you
and begging you to take a seat in the open air lobby of the adult only side of
the resort. Yes! Did I forget to mention Hyatt Ziliara Rose Hall is an adult
only resort, If you’re traveling without children, this resort has an adult
only side so you can be a big kid yourself. If traveling with children the Hyatt
Ziva Rose Hall is available with family friendly activities.
We
stayed in the Ziliara deluxe suites, an awesome surprise upgrade from the
hotel. The room was amazing. Modern décor with tropical flair was my first
thought as the bell man opened the door to our suite. The room had a balcony
overlooking the resort’s water oasis of pools, waterfalls and private lagoons
for those who paid for a “swim up suite”. My favorite room in the suite was the
bathroom of my dreams. The ginormous spa like was my personal getaway every night.
EAT
With
12 restaurants, 7 bars, 24 hour room service and mobile food carts, there is
always something cooking at this paradise just for you. Every day we challenged
out group to something new and everything was exceptionally good. Here is a
list of my favorite restaurants at the resort:
v Petit Pariz – Parisian cuisine
blesses by Jamaicans hands
v The Blue Grillz- The
freshest seafood I’ve ever enjoyed.
v Horizonz-The Crab Omelet with
fresh fruit of the island was divine.
v Urban Beatz-French Toast
with roasted breakfast potatoes can start your day.
v Barefoot Jerks-The best
jerk chick ever. Grab a Red Stripe and enjoy the good life.
v Choicez Buffet- The omelet station
had chef there who was both entertaining and extremely easy on the eyes. His omelets
were awesome also.
PLAY
I’m going to
be honest, I came for the cool breeze of the ocean to rock me to sleep under a
palm tree. And to rest my toes in a cool pool while working on upgrading my melanin.
A quick dip in the pool was all the playtime I cared to enjoy. No judgement. There
were other options of course, you could book one of the many off site excursions
like Tropical Zip lining, Yacht Ride or Booze Cruise, Sightseeing through the tourist
shopping centers for souvenirs and what nots. The resort provides a tour guide
and taxi that accompanies you the entire time you are away from the property.
The security of this resort was very comforting.
Nightlife at
the Hyatt Ziliara was pretty specular also with live shows and bars, after dinner
you could dance the night away and order room service for a late night snack.
NOTE: There is alot of walking involve. WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES

Packing for
this adventure was an adventure itself. I've been stockpiling bikinis and cover
up since I made my first deposit on the trip in January. If I was going to be
on a tropical vacation across the country, I was going to enjoy it to the fullest
with bikinis, flowing dresses and midriff baring tops the entire time. And I did it inside a carryon!!!!Travel game stepping up!
